Shelby Snodgrass - 719 Fitness Center Owner

Seth & Shelby Snodgrass - Owners

This is Seth and Shelby, proud owners of 719 Fitness Center. Shelby graduated with a personal training degree and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification. Her main love and specialization is in all things nutrition. Seth has many training certifications, including ISSA and IAFS. He loves all things strength, conditioning, and working with athletes.

They first founded 719 Fitness Center because they wanted to bring a large city gym to small town Nebraska. It turned into really wanting to help members better their lives, live longer, feel better, and enjoy their time without worrying about if they are “able” to get on the floor to play with kids or the way they look in their clothes. When they aren't at the gym, you’ll find Seth working on the family farm and both of them playing with their kiddos, Brinley, Enzo and a baby on the way! Seth and Shelby obviously love to workout, too! Oftentimes, the whole Snodgrass crew will be hanging out at the gym - Shelby, Seth, kids, and dogs, too.

Laura Fry - 719 Fitness Center Trainer

Laura Fry - Trainer

Laura Fry has been working with the 719 team since January 2018. She graduated with a degree in Nutrition Exercise and Health Science and moved back to her hometown of Ewing after graduating from undergraduate college.

She lives in the country with her husband, Tad, and two kids, Hazel and Tripp. When she’s not at the gym, Laura is helping on her family farm and working the t-shirt company she owns with Shelby. She loves to spend time with her husband and kids, golf, play old ladies volleyball, and be outside.

Laura has been passionate about health and fitness for as long as she can remember. She knew she wanted it to be a part of her future, and working at 719 has been the best experience she could’ve asked for while living back in her small hometown. Her favorite part about training is creating killer workouts for members to complain about and meeting new people to help invest in their lives outside the gym.

Candis Kurpgeweit - 719 Fitness Center Trainer

Candis Kurpgeweit - Trainer

“Hi, my name is Candis, and I enjoy long walks in museums, adventures of all kinds outdoors, especially exploring new places, and spending time with my favorite people…”

Candis joined our team in 2021. She stumbled across our ad on Facebook and decided to go for it as she thought working at 719 might just be a perfect fit. Although she didn’t have previous experience as a trainer, Candis has always enjoyed staying physically active, learning, and growing in fitness and all forms of health – spiritual, emotional, mental and physical. She has appreciated the knowledge, help, and support she continues to receive along the way from the 719 staff and members. She plans to further that knowledge by pursuing her personal trainer certification. Candis’s favorite aspects about working at 719 have been the camaraderie, community, friendships, and accountability that have overflowed into her life beyond the gym’s walls. She loves seeing members killing it inside and outside 719.

Candis and her husband, Cason, live and love the country life just outside of Neligh where they homeschool their 3 kids, Nevaeh, Zane, and Creed. Besides early mornings at the gym, you might catch her hanging out in the garden, with their chickens, walking the dog down the back road, or very likely hanging with friends at River Mill Coffee Company.

Luz Anderson - 719 Fitness Center Trainer

Luz Anderson - Trainer

Luz Anderson joined the 719 family as a trainer in 2021. Originally from Perú, she moved to the US in 2013, lived in Kansas, and moved to Neligh after getting married in 2018. Luz lives with her husband, John, and their 3 kids, Ashley, Anthony, and Mia. She loves family time, dancing, and travel.

Her fitness journey began here in the U.S. She started to attend her local gym in Hutchinson, Kansas and became very passionate about the fitness life and different workouts, including kickboxing, weights, zumba and yoga. After a couple years, Luz developed a special connection with yoga, and her practice included vinyasa, hot yoga, and ashtanga. She never missed an opportunity to substitute as an instructor when needed.

Luz’s favorite part of being a trainer is to challenge people to get out of their comfort zone and be surrounded by the gym family. She is driven by a passion to help you succeed because she believes that we do more than just about a training program - she genuinely wants to help you create lasting changes to your life no matter where you are in your journey!

Lindsay Nelson - 719 Fitness Center Trainer

Lindsay Nelson - Trainer

In January 2022, Lindsay Nelson joined her first 719 Fitness Challenge. It was that challenge that inspired her to join the 719 Team.

Lindsay lives in the country near Brunswick with her wife, Mel and her furry animals. Lindsay and Mel have a 23-year-old daughter. Lindsay works for the City of Creighton and wears many hats on the job, keeping her working endless hours each week. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, camping, nightly cruises, kayaking, boating, swimming, and spending all the time she can fit in with family, friends, and fur babies.

Lindsay fell in love with her health and fitness in 2015. Lindsay has run four half marathons, several 10ks, and countless 5k's. After completing her first 719 challenge, she knew she was hooked to the gym and decided to become a part of the team. She trains in the evenings and enjoys the small group setting that allows her to train more one-on-one. Lindsay welcomes everyone to the gym with a smile and loves to socialize with new people. It is enjoyable for her to visit people and intentionally spend this fulfilling time away from the rest of her busy lifestyle.

Sarah Hughes - 719 Fitness Center Trainer

Sarah Hughes - Trainer

Sarah Hughes has been coming to 719 as a member since 2018, but she recently started as a trainer in the summer of 2022.

Sarah and her husband, Elliott, farm near Royal, Nebraska, where they raise their 4 children (Lucy, Rex, Evie and Iris), cat (Skibidi) and 20+ chickens (mostly unnamed).

Sarah’s hobbies include working out with the 5:00 am crew, having coffee after working out, and spending time at home with her family, plants, and animals.

“I’m so incredibly grateful to have stumbled into such a supportive and fun community. I truly wouldn’t ever have the chance to interact with these people otherwise, but they all have become the best part of your morning routine! I’m so honored to be a part of this gym, as both a member and a trainer. Now, let’s get started!”

Vanessa Carpenter - 719 Fitness Center Trainer

Vanessa Carpenter - Trainer

Vanessa began working as a trainer for 719 Fitness Center in the fall of 2022. She graduated high school from Clearwater-Orchard in 2017. After high school, she attended Northeast Community College where she graduated with my A.A. in Personal Training. Currently, she is wrapping up her time at Wayne State College and will be graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and minor in coaching.

Growing up, she was always involved in sports. In high school, she was involved in volleyball, basketball, track, powerlifting, and softball. After high school, Vanessa knew she wanted to be involved with athletics and had a passion for helping people, so she decided to put both of her passions together and become a personal trainer. She is excited to help anyone on their health and fitness journey!

Vanessa most likes how health and fitness is an ongoing challenge; that you are never quite finished, and there is always room for improvement! There is always something new to learn or try, too. She also thinks that it is important to live a healthy lifestyle and take care of yourself so you can avoid noncommunicable diseases like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.

Vanessa’s hobbies outside of the gym include spending time with friends and family, hanging out with her kitty Iris, and going fishing with her boyfriend Austin.
